Past:School Board
I have been a resident of the Woodland HIlls School District for most of my life, in Forest HIlls as a child, East Pittsburgh as an adolescent, and currently residing in Edgewood with my husband and daughter. I am also a Woodland Hills High School graduate and was a student at the former Good Shepherd Catholic School in Braddock prior to that.
My ties to the district and the individual communities it encompasses are vast and longstanding. In my professional career, I have spent the majority of my time working in the non-profit sector and am passionate about working towards changing systems of inequality.
I feel my personal experience of having lived in socioeconomically diverse areas of the district affords me a unique perspective which would be an asset to the board. I am dedicated to the notion that ALL kids in Woodland HIlls are deserving of respect, dignity, and access to a quality education that prepares them for their future.
If elected, I will utilize my first-hand experience in conjunction with my parenting and professional expertise to advocate for and argue in the best interest of the residents of Braddock, Rankin, Swissvale, and Edgewood and their children.
